Winter olympics (revisited)

I am going to take back that comment in my previous blog about Winter Olympics not being for me coz I'm tropical. Note I'm still tropical. But a few hours ago I saw probably the best race I've ever seen, in a sport called biathlon. A really weird sport... you ski, then you shoot, then you ski some more, shoot some more, and so on four times, and finally there's the last skiing. I had heard about biathlon but never given it a chance, I mean how weird is skiing and shooting right? You can almost see some guys in a haze of not-tobacco smoke dreaming up this sport. But it's a great deal of fun, due to one cool aspect: each time you shoot, you get 5 shots, and for every miss you ski a loop on the penalty track. So the lead changes constantly, probably more often than any other race. The skiing is also cross-country so it's kinda rigorous and not just all speed. Note also that you must shoot when you are quite out of breath, so you're not going to be as still as you'd want. The real clincher for me was the guy who we were cheering from the start won! And in an incredibly close race to the finish too!
